Yandy Smith was a standout on the original Love And Hip Hop series, which featured women working in Hip Hop and women in relationships with Hip Hop artists.
Here’s some background:
Yandy got her start in Hip Hop working for Mona Scott, the owner of Violator Management, which managed Hip Hop artists Missy Elliot, Busta Rhymes and 50 Cent. Yandy began her Artist Management career at Violator but eventually secured an exclusive management deal with hard-core rapper Jim Jones.
When Mona parlayed her success in Hip Hop Music into a hit show about Hip Hop Music on VH1, Yandy was tapped to add fire and interest to the series’ second season. This angered the show’s most popular character, Chrissy Lampkin, who just happens to be the fiance of Yandy’s client Jim Jones.
As Yandy battled the show’s Queen Bee, Chrissy Lampkin, America loved to hate this Hip Hop Artist Manager and mogul in the making.
