British rapper Shystie and friend Azealia Banks throw the Rap world for a loop with the music video for “Control It.” The lyrically aggressive song with lyrics like…
Choke me
Slap me
Pull my hair
…gets an equally scandalous visual from the tag team rappers.
Shystie and Azealia are seen dog-walking men while dressed in all-black and rapping about the size of men’s feet while sucking on lollipops.
The video is shocking and ultra sexy…but that’s just the way Shytie planned it. She tells Billboard.Com:
“When it came to putting the storyboard together with the video director, Oliver Whitehouse, “sex-with-class” was on the brain. ”I wanted something fun, artistic and creative. I feel a lot of videos nowadays just look generic.”
“I went back and forth with [director] Oliver Whitehouse about a million times in putting the treatment together, just to make sure that we had something sexy, shocking and entertaining. I wanted this to stand out from all the other visuals I have to date. The track is sexual and domineering, and I wanted the video to reflect that.”
Shystie says Missy Elliot and famed Hip Hop director inspired her vision for “Control It.”
“[Their] videos taught me to not be afraid and try new things. I’m [currently] unsigned so the video was funded by [solely] my management team, Star Work Management. The finance and vision come from ourselves. It’s something I’m very proud of.”
