Missy Elliot has signed her name to an open letter ADDRESSED TO (music provider) Pandora Radio along with Rihanna and 125 other musicians…to stop Pandora from cutting artist royalty checks on online music sales. Pandora Media Inc. has asked Congress to sign a bill called the “Internet Radio Fairness Act” which would allow Pandora (and other music services) to cut royalty payments to the artists down by 85%.  To get the bill signed, Pandora has been lobbying legislators in Congress to ‘pass’ the bill. Missy Elliot was a good friend of music executive Chris Lighty.  In honor of his passing, Missy–who worked with Lighty when he co-managed her career during this tenure at Violator Music Management–performed a song that Chris had a big hand in making a hit.

Missy performed “Get Ur Freak On” last night in honor of her friend and former manager.  Her performance was just part of a exciting set that included Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes and others.
