When Nicki Minaj rapped about being a Republican and voting for former Govenor Mitt Romney for President…Barbz and critics went crazy! Here is the infamous line (from Nicki and Lil Wayne’s remix to Mercy)
“I’m a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy b—-es are f—ing up the economy.”
Nicki was slammed by fans and followers who felt her Right-leaning political lyrics were a slap in the face to the very people who buy and support her music. Nicki even received death threats on Twitter by people who REALLY disliked the HBIC’s (Head Barb in Charge) support of the Republican Party.
Not surprisingly, (current) President Barack Obama was asked how he felt about Nicki’s comments. In his typical smooth style, Obama dismissed Nicki’s rhymes as nothing more than an act. He told Orlando radio station Power 95.3…
“I’m not sure that (throwing support behind Romney and the Republican Party) is actually what happened. I think she had a song on there, a little rap that said that. But, she likes to play different characters. So I don’t know what’s going on there.” SOURCE
“A little rap..?” Do I detect a little shade throwing from the President?
Of course, Nicki Minaj ate up the President’s mention of her name. She hopped on Twitter to praise the Prez for seeing through her lyrics “as the smart ones always do” and to proclaim ONCE AGAIN that she stays winning.
Here are Nicki’s Tweets responding to President Obama’s comments:
Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support* @barackobama

So, in your opinion did Nicki WIN (because the President acknowledged her lyrics) or LOSE (because she lost support and respect from some of her fans???
