Model Vanity Wonder Warns Women Of The Dangers Of Butt Injections In New Book, ‘Shot Girls.’ “Don’t Look At Me And Think I’m…Happy!”

Vanity Wonder has been a fixture in Black Men’s Magazines and on Hip Hop and Urban blogs for the last few years. Her curvaceous 32D-23-43 measurements were featured in numerous layouts and on covers of quite a few mens magazines. The un-natural looking Wonder literally made a career off of her bootylicious body.

Many in and around the Hip Hop industry speculated Vanity’s cartoonish shape wasn’t natural. After all, many of the Video Vixens and Urban Glamour Models we know and love are cosmetically enhanced. What people didn’t know however, were the lengths some of these models Iincluding Vanity) were going to, to create the Coke Cola Bottle Shape many in the urban world hold in the highest regard.

In Vanity Wonders new book, “Shot Girls,” (Now Available HERE) Vanity details her journey into the underground world of urban cosmetology–where hip and butt enhancements are performed in motel rooms by Round-the-Way chicks rather than in medical offices by skill, certified physicians. She also talks about her experiences with addiction and her own brief career as a “Shot Girl.”

She warns women not to go the route she went. “Don’t look at me and think I’m living happy,” Vanity says.

Unfortunately, that warning is falling on a lot of deaf ears. It seems women know the risks of getting back-door butt and hip injections, but the hope of achieving that Figure 8 “Vanity Wonder” shape drives them to seedy motels (where many of these illegal procedures happen) and…to the “Shot Girls” who can make their cosmetic dreams come true.

Vanity claims women contact her asking for the phone numbers to “Shot Girls” despite her harsh warnings:

“They beg me for [the] number(s) even though I don’t know what was injected into me, and people want to know where [the 'Shot Girls are] at,” Wonder said. “Nobody listens.”

But even Vanity, who is now warning women of the dangers of undergoing cosmetic procedures with uncertified people, was lured into the seedy world of underground butt injections by her own vanity. Peep what she says in her book of her own early desire to have a fuller, more eye-catching frame:

“I had always wanted a better body and, on top of that, I liked the compliments that I’d got when I was a little thicker.”

Vanity Wonder is on a wonderful crusade. Her revelations about the Underground Butt Shot Game is something many women need to know. They’re grave risks that need to be exposed. And, there are lives at stake. Just ask one of the cosmetic industry’s own, Dr. Mark Abdelmalek who is Chief of Laser and Dermatalogic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philladelphia:

“Some of the most common side effects of botched injections are severe allergic reactions and even ulcers around the injection site.

There’s a spectrum of danger,” Abdelmalek said. “It can start as a little infection, but infections can be dangerous if you don’t get control over it in a timely manner.”

Even Wonder speaks to the risks she endured for her out-of-sight curves in her book:

“…In many cases, [I] went to hotels in Detroit, lay on a massage table and let a “shot girl” — someone who… was clearly not certified — give [me] the injections. [After each of at least] two injections, [I] was patched up at [the] injection site with cotton balls and super glue to keep from leaking.”

Hopefully, Wonder gets through to some of the women who admire her body and want to achieve the same look if not all. The message after all is not…”DON’T HAVE PLASTIC SURGERY.” The message IS according to Vanity…
